Week Without Violence

During one week in October, our YWCA joins YWCAs across the USA and the world to call attention to violence and its corrosive effects on individuals and communities. We sponsor or collaboratively offer programs and events that explore the causes of and alternatives to violent behavior. We encourage our members to help us plan and carry-out each year's Week

The Gathering Ground

The Gathering Ground is a YWCA-sponsored group of Connecticut families who have adopted children from cultural and ethnic backgrounds different from their own. The group meets to support and educate one another, hold play dates for their children, provide a speaker series, share sources, and celebrate and honor diverse cultural heritage within our community of international families of adoption.
